About GlobalOutageMap

GlobalOutageMap is an independent live tracker for cloud, SaaS, developer and infrastructure outages. We aggregate signals from official status pages, independent newsrooms and community reports, then plot them on a single map so you can answer one question fast: is anything down right now?

Why this exists

Outage information is scattered across hundreds of separate status pages, tweets and incident blogs. When something breaks, you usually have minutes, not hours, to find out whether the problem is on your side, your provider's side, or somewhere in between.

GlobalOutageMap exists because that information should live in one place, free, fast and free of the marketing layer that makes most status pages so unhelpful. We don't generate claims of our own; we surface what providers and credible sources report, with attribution and direct links to the source.

How we do it

We combine official provider signals, our own availability monitoring, curated newsroom coverage and moderated community reports. Where the signal allows it, we place an incident on the affected region rather than the corporate HQ, because that's where the actual disruption lives.

What each status means, and what we never claim, is set out on our methodology page.

Principles

  • Cite, don't claim. Every signal links back to its source. We never say "confirmed" without a verified provider acknowledgement.
  • Signal-based, not authoritative. A pin is evidence something might be broken, always cross-check the vendor's official channel before acting.
  • No dark patterns. No pop-unders, no rented user data, no fake urgency. Contextual ads and an optional Pro subscription keep the lights on.
  • Free for read-only use. Anyone can use the map, search a provider and read incidents without an account.

Who runs it

Operated as part of Powerminds, an independent Dutch sole proprietorship (KvK 97879371, Teteringen, the Netherlands). Built and maintained by Bas Witkop with help from the community.
