Origin Server Connectivity Issues with Elevated Errors in APAC Region

We have identified that this issue was likely due to upstream congestion related to unexpected maintenance on subsea cables. The impact was primarily observed when requests from outside the APAC region were routed to origins in the APAC region, and when requests from the APAC region were routed to origins outside the region. We are working with the upstream ISP(s) to gather additional details.Based on our current observations, the service is resuming normal operations. What to do next

  • Verify your own services recovered cleanly. Some upstream outages leave queues or caches in a degraded state, run smoke tests before declaring green internally.
  • Save the post-mortem. Vendors usually publish a detailed RCA 1-3 days later. We'll add it to this page when it appears.
  • Watch the provider going forward. Follow Akamai's status feed →

GlobalOutageMap aggregates publicly reported signals. We never claim authoritative status, always cross-check the provider's official channel before making business decisions.
