- Jun 22, 2026, 06:54 PMEmerging Service Issue - Networking - US-MIA (Miami)
On June 16, 2026 Akamai investigated an instance of performance degradation and connectivity slowness observed affecting applications within the Miami compute environment. This event occurred between around 13:37 UTC and 14:20 UTC on June 16, 2026. The Investigation revealed a configuration change on an Akamai device in Miami triggered an underlying vendor software defect within the routing platform's operating system. Actions were taken to mitigate the impact and restore intended routing paths. To prevent any further recurrence, we have temporarily suspended related configuration changes.

What to do next
- Verify your own services recovered cleanly. Some upstream outages leave queues or caches in a degraded state, run smoke tests before declaring green internally.
- Save the post-mortem. Vendors usually publish a detailed RCA 1-3 days later. We'll add it to this page when it appears.
- Watch the provider going forward. Follow Linode's status feed →
GlobalOutageMap aggregates publicly reported signals. We never claim authoritative status, always cross-check the provider's official channel before making business decisions.
