    Payment Disruption

We're continuing to work with our payment processing partner to resolve a disruption with payment processing. Sellers may see some Visa, Mastercard and debit card transactions declined at point of sale. If possible, we recommend customers use a different payment method such as JBC, American Express and e-money. Your ability to accept payments is our top priority and our Engineering team is working with our payments partner to resolve this issue. We appreciate your patience.

What to do next

  • Verify your own services recovered cleanly. Some upstream outages leave queues or caches in a degraded state, run smoke tests before declaring green internally.
  • Save the post-mortem. Vendors usually publish a detailed RCA 1-3 days later. We'll add it to this page when it appears.
  • Watch the provider going forward. Follow Square's status feed →

GlobalOutageMap aggregates publicly reported signals. We never claim authoritative status, always cross-check the provider's official channel before making business decisions.
